Are you blind or visually impaired? If so, you are not alone.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.

Our organization offers blind people the opportunity to benefit from mutual support, to share information, to lend their voices in making decisions on how problems can be resolved, and to work cooperatively as we educate the public about the truth concerning blindness. We know that children who are blind must receive effective education; adults who are blind are gainfully employed, and seniors who become blind lead independent and productive lives.

The real problem of blindness is not the loss of eyesight, but the misunderstanding and lack of information that exists. We know from our own experience that if a blind person has proper training and opportunity, blindness can be reduced to the level of a physical nuisance.

Together with love, hope, and determination, we transform dreams into reality.

You are cordially invited to join our Minnesota organization and participate with us as we work together to LIVE THE LIFE YOU WANT.
