May 27th, 1920, was the day of the founding convention of the Minnesota State Organization of the Blind, today known as the National Federation of the Blind of Minnesota. Although the pandemic in 2020 made it necessary for us to honor our 100th year using virtual formats rather than by gathering in person, our strong community rose to the challenge and marked the occasion in memorable fashion, both on May 27th, and at our fall convention November 6-8. Visit the links below to hear and read about our past and be inspired about our future.

We owe great thanks to the people who help with the production of this publication. Judy Sanders proofreads and provides corrections for both the print and braille editions. Dave Andrews marks up and posts the NFB-NEWSLINE® edition. Many others assist wherever they are needed. Thank you all!

In this story, she demonstrates her quick thinking and resourcefulness in the face of the real-life curves that can be thrown especially to a young person dealing with new experiences of living away from family.)

(Editor’s Note: Although our resolutions are generally adopted by our full convention, sometimes time is of the essence to take a position on a critical issue.

(Editor's Note: President O'Connor delivered the following rousing report at our annual state convention in November, 2024.)
